Top 5 Myths About CBD

Updated: Sep 18, 2021

MYTH #1 : CBD is Illegal

If CBD has been derived from hemp plants and has less than 0.3% THC, it is absolutely 100% legal in all 50 states.

What is illegal is CBD products that contain more than 0.3% THC because the CBD is derived from the actual Marijuana plant and contains high levels of THC that are detectable and psychoactive.

CBD has been protected at a state level by the Agricultural Act of 2014, Section 7606, which states:

"Industiral Hemp" as defined by Section 7606(b)(2) in the Agricultural Act 2014 means the cannabis plant Sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of no more than 0.3% products are EXEMPT from the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 801 et seq.) and are perfectly legal to possess, use, and distribute.

While CBD has been legal on a state level, it was made legal on a federal level with President Trumps 2018 Farm Bill, which passed in December 11, 2018.

MYTH #2: CBD gets you 'high'

CBD does not and can't get you high. Even though CBD comes from the cannabis plant, CBD is only 1 of the 100 types of cannabinoids that the cannabis plant produces. CBD is a non-psychotropic cannabinoid meaning there is no 'high' effect on the mind or body, but you still get the full healing benefits from the hemp plant.

The Marijuana flower is made up of a cannabinoid we know as THC. THC is the primary psychoactive component of the hemp plant that delivers a 'high'.

Geuine CBD products with no THC only contain less than 0.3% THC which is non detectable in the body and has zero effect on the body. CBD also does NOT IMPAIR your ability to drive, work, or perform everyday tasks even though it helps you calm down, relax, relieve anxiety, and stay asleep.

MYTH #3: CBD shows up on Drug Test

Drug testers are testing for THC levels in your urine, so as long as you are using CBD that is LEGAL and has been tested by a third party lab to have 0 or less than 0.3% THC, and you take your recommend dose, you will be fine.

The only way you put yourself at risk is if you bought CBD products from shady manufacturers that do not get their products tested! So how can you know?

Any legal CBD products are backed with COA's (certificates of analysis) that show proof of the products lab test so you can see exactly what you are getting. If you who are buying from can't provide the test results, it probably isn't legit or worth the risk.

You'll notice you'll find those products are much cheaper (RED FLAG) than genuine CBD products.

MYTH #4: CBD is Medical Marijuana

Medical Marijuana and CBD, when taken as supplements, are actually VERY different. Medical Marijuana actually uses the entire flower of the marijuana plant and is grown for maximum THC content, to produce psycho-active effects on the mind/body.

As we read in the previous myths, CBD has little or no THC content and does not produce psycho-active effects. Therefore, it does not have the same effect on the mind and body as medical marijuana. CBD is only 1 of the 100 types of cannabinoids produced by the hemp plant. THC is the pyscho-active (produces a high), CBD is non-pyscho-active (produces no high).

MYTH #5: There are no credible studies showing CBD works

This is so untrue, it's laughable.

With taking CBD products, you are taking one of the most highly studied plants on earth over the last 10 years. In 2017 alone there were over 245 different studies performed worldwide looking at everything from CBD in pain treatment to using CBD before public speaking to treat anxieties.

The results from from these studies show major improvements for the test subjects, and there is more than enough credible studies to show that CBD does work.
